You think you can hear crickets chirping, and then realize its just your conscience. Nevertheless, you decide it’s just crickets chirping and ignore it. You take the stardust which is squeezed between your fingers, and you place it on your tongue.
Boom! You shoot straight up and through the log. You’re shooting higher and higher until the pond below looks like little more than a dot. You’re having a jolly good time. This is a lot of fun. But then....
Then the stardust wears off and you begin to fall. You’re falling and screaming, and terrified when suddenly you freeze in mid air. Right in front of you is a fairie and she’s somehow keeping you elevated.
“What’s wrong?” asks the faerie.
“I’m falling. Can’t you see?” you say.
“Can’t you fly?” asks the faerie.
“Of course I can’t fly!” you say exasperated.
“Well I just saw you flying,” says the fairy.
“That was, uh, an accident.” you say.
“Very well,” says the faery. She slowly floats you down to the ground.
“Thank you faerie lady,” you say.
“Silly humans!” the fairie replies.
Now that you’re on the ground, you have an itching to go somewhere. You look around and spot a path that leads into the wood. You’re curious to see what this forest holds, so you head in that direction.
The path winds in and out of mighty oak trees. The path is almost unusually windy as if its creator really just wanted to screw with you. It winds around and around until finally it becomes straight. Just up ahead, you can see a long staircase which climbs an incredibly steep hill. You walk up, and begin to ascend the staircase.
