You begin to climb the stairs. They are extremely steep, and very soon you are out of breathe. You sit down on the stairs for a few minutes to catch your breath, then begin climbing again. The climb is arduous, and it feels like it takes forever, but you finally do make your way to the top of the stairs.
At the top, you see an elderly man sitting cross legged inside what looks like a circle of ash. His grey beard is perfectly straight and goes straight down to his waist. His eyes are closed, and he looks extremely calm.
“Come a little closer child,” the man says without opening his eyes. You walk a little closer. “Hmm... Yes, yes...” the man says to himself. “You should do. Sit down child and I will give you a gift.”
From somewhere behind him, the man pulls out a small wooden box carved with art nouveau decorations. He opens the lid of this box, and inside are three rings. One ring is golden. Another ring looks as if it’s made from bronze. The third ring is made from carved Jasper. The man encourages you to try them on. He says that if any of them fit, he will give it to you.
You try all three rings. One is slightly too small. One is slightly too big. But one fits absolutely perfectly. Which of the rings fit your finger?
