You are determined to get off on the right start with this journey with as few distractions as possible, so you ignore the sparkle. You figure in your mind that it’s just a trick of light, and that in fact nothing is there.
As you step off the bridge onto the other side, somewhere in the distance, you hear an obnoxious and loud squak. You look in the direction that it is coming from. Straight in front of you, you can see the peak of a mountain. There’s a path there that seems to lead straight towards this mountain.
You hear the squak again, and now you’re curious. You start heading that direction, and enter the path. You begin walking down the path, and notice something very curious. The ground seems to be going up and down as if it were camel humped. For twenty feet, it rises at about a 20% incline, and then for the next twenty feet is seems to descend twenty feet.
After walking this path for a while, just off to the right, you can hear the bubbling of a small waterfall. You leave the path to go investigate. All of a sudden you’re very thirsty, and you want to see if this water is safe to drink.
It takes you about five minutes to find the source of the sound. It’s coming from an exceptionally small stream some thirty or forty paces away from the trail. You look down at the water. It’s perfectly clear. You splash your hand in the water, and it’s refreshingly chilled. You can determine no reason that this water isn’t safe to drink, so you cup your hands and bring a nice handful of water to you’re mouth. You’re instantly shocked and surprised.
You jump back a little bit. The water you just put to your mouth tasted exactly like lemonaid. You’re surprised, but pleasantly surprised. It is in fact some of the most delicious lemonaid you’ve ever tasted. Excitedly you cup your hands for another drink. This time you’re even more surprised, because the water no longer tastes like lemonaid, but hot chocolate. This is doubly surprising because the liquid was cool to the touch, but in your mouth, it’s steaming hot.
Now you’re intrigued. You lean over one more time, anxiously expecting what flavor you’ll get this time. You put the water to your lips, and this time, it just tastes like water. You’re a little disappointed, but not too much, because this water is crisp, pure, and extremely thirst satisfying.
You find your way back to the path, and start steadily moving towards the peak in the distance. You quickly lose track of time. The forest all around you is beautiful. You can hear a variety of different bird calls, and flying all around are fantastic looking dragonflies. The air smells earthy, the way it might smell just after a spring rain.
After journeying a while longer, you find yourself at the base of the mountain. You begin to climb. The path zig zags back and forth until you reach something like a clearing. From this clearing, you notice a small cave that goes into the side of the mountain. This cave seems inviting, so you walk over to investigate it. You reach the mouth of the cave, and then enter in.
