“Yes my friend,” said the fish. “It is I, the great Pwalulu, master of worlds and king of this pond. You have almost defied me, but I will give you one last chance for redemption. But first, pretty please give me one of those happy pellets.”
You feel a little unsure, but because after all this is the Great Pwalulu, you decide to throw a couple of pellets into the pond. The fish viciously eats them up, then continues his discourse.
“You know,” the fish says. “I didn’t always reside in this pond. Once, very long ago, I lived among the stars. I was the leader of a bombastic crew of fiesty space pirates. We would go from galaxy to galaxy plundering the happy pellets until there were no happy pellets left.”
“Great master,” you say. “What did you do with all the happy pellets.”
“Why I ate them up of course until I had my fill.”
“But what of the rest?” you say. “Surely you can’t have eaten all the happy pellets yourself.”
“Oh no my child. Not even my entire space crew could eat them all, so we buried them on an abandoned planet in the far reaches of nowhere.”
“How did you come upon such a place?” you ask.
“My child, many things are known in secret. But some secrets simply can’t be kept. And so it was with this planet. Now child, go in peace. You have met the requirements of the Great Pwalulu, and now I dispatch you to go where you will.”
You step away from the pond and return the bag to its resting place. Once you are satisfied that the bag is safe, you begin to have a look around. Off in the distance, you can see a path that leads into the woods. You head in that direction.
You follow the path for what seems like hours. Birds are chirping around you, and squirrels are climbing trees. Occasionally you see a deer darting through the trees. After what seems like a long time, you come to a clearing. It appears like perhaps there is something important here, so you enter the clearing.
